What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: The people and the culture. Exciting projects I'm working on: Developing a new process to manage customers with chronic sewer problems. Developing a new process to provide feedback to all customers who report a water fault to Yarra Valley Water. My favourite benefit is: Proximity to home and the flexibility of working hours. |

What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: The people and the culture at Yarra Valley Water make it a very enjoyable and supportive workplace. Additionally the customer and the environmental focus placed on the work done and decisions made align with my own priorities. Exciting projects I'm working on: In my current role as a graduate I have worked extensively on an interim servicing strategy for the Epping North catchment involving over $100M of infrastructure. Additionally I have collated, submitted and revised a Works Approval Application to the EPA for an upgrade to the Wallan Sewerage Treatment Plant. The Application was approved and work has now commenced on the site. My favourite benefit is: There are a number of benefits I enjoy at Yarra Valley Water, especially the Time Off in Lieu days, as well as the monthly Reward and Recognition and Friday afternoon drinks. |

What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: I like working at Yarra Valley Water as it provides a relaxed working environment while being focused on delivery of quality services to its customers. Exciting projects I'm working on: Single Sign-on. We are currently starting a trial of a single sign-on solution that will enable Yarra Valley Water Staff to access various applications without the need to input a username and password every time. My favourite benefit is: There are some really great packaging options. I’m able to package up my car and reap some great tax benefits! |

What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: People are friendly and approachable, new ideas are listened to and explored, working conditions are flexible, cycle-friendly facilities are available. Exciting projects I'm working on: Trialling alternative water and sewerage servicing strategies. These include large-scale onsite recycling, nutrient recovery (urine capture and reuse) and other ‘decentralised’ technologies. My favourite benefit is: Getting a sense of achievement from seeing my projects getting implemented… funny how exciting a sewerage main can be when you had a hand in designing it! |

What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: The people. I find that the culture at Yarra Valley Water is one I have never experienced before. There are a phenomenal number of opportunities in terms of applying what I have learnt at university in a practical sense as well as obtaining an invaluable experience in a business environment. Exciting projects I'm working on: Working in Learning and Development I have been working on organising and recording training as well as the OCI/OEI culture project. What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: Yarra Valley Water has a friendly and flexible working environment and is only 15 minutes from home. Exciting projects I'm working on: I am currently working on the Disaster Recovery Project. This replaces the Lilydale back-up site with laptops and mobile phones. To date it has been a challenging but rewarding project. |

What I enjoy about Yarra Valley Water: Yarra Valley Water offers a variety of challenges, a vibrant organisational culture, flexibility, reward and recognition for individual and team achievements and personal development opportunities. Also, the opportunities to interact and work with stakeholders, other water utilities, regulators, Australian and international researchers and experts is great. Exciting projects I'm working on: Managing and contributing to innovative research projects, developing and implementing water quality improvement programs, managing drinking water and recycled water risk management systems. My favourite benefit is: Encouragement and support from Yarra Valley Water to make a career shift from a typical Civil Engineer to become a Water Quality Specialist. |
