Federal government grants and incentive schemes for businesses

Researchers in Business

Purpose
The Australian Government has committed $10 million within Enterprise Connect to support the placement of researchers from universities or public research agencies into businesses where it is identified that such a placement would help to develop and implement a new idea with commercial potential. 

Funding available
Funding is available for up to 50 per cent of salary costs, to a maximum of $50,000, will be provided. Placements can be for a period of 2 to 12 months. 

Timing
Open on a rolling basis until all funding has been allocated.

Business Review 

Purpose
The program provides comprehensive support to eligible Australian small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Core services include business reviews at no cost to firms for eligible businesses and grant assistance to implement recommendations flowing from the business reviews.

Tailored Advisory Service Grant

Purpose
Tailored Advisory Services assist small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to engage service providers to help implement changes that improve their business performance. To be eligible for funding firms must first conduct a business review.
This provides a comprehensive analysis of the firm, carried out on site, by skilled and experienced Enterprise Connect Business Advisers.

Funding Available
Half the cost, up to a maximum of $20,000 (excluding GST), of engaging a consultant/s to deliver the Tailored Advisory Service

Solar Credits Scheme Department of Climate Change

Purpose
Small-scale solar photovoltaic, wind and hydro electricity systems are able to receive ‘solar credits’.

Funding Available
 Funding is available depending on the number of RECs able to be created for eligible installations of small scale renewable energy systems.

Timing
This project will be phased out by 2015 - 2016.
