Deakin University case study

Participating in Yarra Valley Water’s Showerhead Exchange program has played a major role in ensuring Deakin University is on track to achieve it’s 10% water reduction target in 2010.
Shower timers and water conservation signage have been installed in student accommodation to compliment the water efficient showerheads.

Other water conservation initiatives include the installation of a 600,000 litre underground rainwater tank and a host of smaller rainwater tanks at the Melbourne Campus at Burwood that contribute to delivering the University’s Environmental Sustainability Enabling Policy.
