Avonsleigh/Emerald sewerage backlog program
Avonsleigh and Emerald are townships just beyond Melbourne's eastern edge in the Dandenong Ranges. A number of areas in Avonsleigh and Emerald are currently unsewered, and are scheduled to be sewered under the Backlog Sewerage Program.
The project is currently in the initial stages of engaging a construction contractor, and construction is due to commence in late February 2012 with the aim to provide reticulated sewerage services to parts of Avonsleigh and Emerald by September 2012. The proposed network for this area will be a combination of traditional gravity connections as well as pressure sewer connections. For more information of these types of sewer systems, please visit our Types of Sewerage Systems page.
