Park Orchards sewerage backlog program

Park Orchards is a low density, leafy suburb on Melbourne's north-eastern urban fringe. The majority of properties in Park Orchards are currently unsewered, and are scheduled to be sewered under the Backlog Sewerage Program. Construction on new sewers in some parts of Park Orchards has already commenced, with the remaining backlog areas staggered over several years.

Park Orchards Backlog Areas

Below is a list of Park Orchards' backlog areas. Please click the links below to find out more up-to-date information on each one.

Williams Road area

Sewerage is now available in the Williams Road area. Connection to the new sewerage system is required to ensure the benefits of the system are fully realised by your local environment and community.

Wider Park Orchards area

Currently, three areas of Park Orchards remain to be serviced under the Backlog Sewer Program. Please be aware that Yarra Valley Water is currently reviewing the Backlog Program schedule, and hence the dates shown below are subject to change. The review process should be complete by the end of 2011, by which time we will know the likely dates for servicing Park Orchards. News relevant to your area will be published as it becomes available in each section below.

Reticulation Area RA0039

The majority of the remaining residential areas of Park Orchards are part of the Backlog Sewerage Program area RA0039, and are planned to be serviced by sewer over a two or three year period commencing in the financial year 2013/14 and finishing 2015/16. Please be aware, as mentioned earlier, that these dates are currently under review. This area is approximately bound by Falconer Road to the north, Croydon Road and old Warrandyte Road to the east, Donvale and Ringwood North to the south, and several very rural properties to the west. Some properties in RA0039 actually fall into the suburbs of Ringwood North and Warrandyte South, and have been grouped with Park Orchards for project management and environmental reasons.

As of November 2010 Yarra Valley Water has commenced concept design of the Park Orchards area. This involves creating some basic concepts of sewerage networks to provide a base for assessing future designs and possible alternative servicing options.  It is expected this phase will last approximately 3-4 months.

Reticulation Area RA0017 (Wilkinson Way area)

Several properties on Wilkinson Way, Athelstane Road, Cormistom Road and Warrandyte Road are scheduled to be serviced in the 2012/2013 financial year.

The detailed design for the pressurised sewer system in this area is near completion. Yarra Valley Water will continue to ensure the community is informed of our work on developing their sewerage service.

Reticulation Area RA0041A (properties bordering Donvale)

Several Park Orchards properties located close to the suburb boundary with Donvale actually fall into the Donvale Backlog Area RA0041A. Properties in this area are currently scheduled to be serviced over a two or three year period commencing in the financial year 2015/16 and finishing 2016/17.
