Coldstream-Yarra Glen sewer upgrade project
Yarra Valley Water is upgrading sewerage infrastructure in Station Street, Coldstream to increase reliability and capacity within our system and cater for future growth in the Coldstream and Yarra Glen regions.
Project background
Yarra Valley Water is upgrading sewerage infrastructure in the Coldstream and Yarra Glen regions to increase reliability and capacity within our system, and to ensure our ability to cater for future growth in the area. The upgrade will also have the added benefits of reducing the likelihood of sewage overflows into the environment and minimising odours in the area.
Construction details
Construction for the next stage of our works started in January 2012 and is expected to be completed by mid-2012.
We have laid approximately 500 metres of new pressure sewer mains within the road reserve along the north side of Station Street, Coldstream. We are currently upgrading the sewage pumping station near the corner of Station Street and Maroondah Highway, which includes building a 75 kilolitre emergency storage tank. Work at the sewage pumping station has slowed as we await the delivery of the new emergency storage tank. Construction is likely to start up again after Easter 2012 and should be completed by July 2012.
