In your home

Simple tips to help reduce your bill
Often the simplest (and cheapest) changes can help you save water.
Try these tips in your home
Rejoice at doing fewer dishes – Let the morning dishes wait until after dinner (or vice versa) – washing with a full sink/ dishwasher will save you a minimum of 10 litres a day.
Reuse and smile - choose a favourite glass and keep reusing it throughout the day. Less dishes = less water used.
Half full equals just as clean - if you’ve only got a few dishes that must be washed, fill the kitchen sink to a third of the way.
Let the sun do your laundry for you - With good weather, bring back the lost art of airing your clothes outside, rather than automatically washing them after each wear.
Don't have a garden? - Capture shower warm up water to hand-wash delicate clothing items or use it to flush the toilet.
Dripping tap’s do more than keep you awake – just one dripping tap can waste 4 litres a day. Place a cup under each tap while you’re at work. If there is more than a dribble in each cup when you return, you need to replace the washer.
Don't flush your savings - Put a few drops of food dye in the toilet cistern. If in 15 minutes your toilet bowl is anything but pearly white, you have a leak that costs you 100 litres a day. Find out how we can help change your toilet for a minimal amount.
Staying fit AND using less water? - Take advantage of the sunnier mornings and daylight saving and time your workouts before your regular shower, thus removing the need for a second shower.
Brush your way to water conservation – brush your teeth with a glass of water to save 4 litres of water a day.
A closer shave AND less nicks? Shave out of the shower and with the taps turned off.
