Dialysis Patients
Also known as a Haemodialysis Machine or Artificial Kidney. A dialysis machine is a life support machine for people who have suffered kidney failure. It uses large volumes of water and relies on an uninterrupted supply of water for continuous operation.
How are we advised that a dialysis machine is installed at the property?
Hospitals send us notification when a machine is installed and an updated master listing of all machines every six months.
How do we record the installation of a dialysis machine at a property?
It is noted on all of our property information records. To help our maintenance staff identify that a dialysis machine is installed, the water meter at the property is painted blue, and a dialysis tag is attached.
Allowances for dialysis patients
A concession is granted on top of any other relevant concession. If you have a dialysis machine installed at your property, we provide a 'kilolitre allowance' on water usage. You can receive a maximum concession of 42 kilolitres per quarter.
