In your home

Can I apply for an Exemption?
Yes, you may apply for an exemption to water restrictions in special circumstances such as if you have a medical condition or a disability.
For simplicity's sake, have a quick look over Stage 1 water restrictions - as these more flexible restrictions may well mean that an exemption is not needed.
On Stage 1 water restrictions, Melburnians can hand water their gardens and lawns at any time with a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle, watering can or bucket. Watering systems can be used to water gardens and lawns only between 6 am - 10 am and 6 pm and 10 pm on alternate days.
Are the exemptions that were awarded under Stage 2 still valid?
No, generally if you have an exemption under a higher stage of restriction, it will not carry over automatically. There are some exemptions that will carry over (such as medically related exemptions). To find our if your exemption carries over, contact your water utility.
