Water and sewerage

Reinstatement - Repairs after a fault
After the repair of a pipe leak or burst, the area around it will be temporarily restored (reinstated).
We will come back later and permanently restore it – we aim to return it to a similar condition to what it was before the leak.
How long will it take?
Nature Strip
It takes a while for grass to grow!
We will replace the topsoil and seed the area and then leave stakes with tape around the area so it’s safe for you. We’ll be back to remove them, generally within a week.
Pavement / Gutter / Road
Our first priority is to make the area safe – that’s why you will see bitumen used to patch the pavement.
After we have made the pavement / gutter / road safe, the permanent restoration has to fit in around any planned council works or traffic management plans – this may take a little longer!
We then plan our works to fully restore the pavement over the coming weeks and we aim to complete the majority within one month.
We will put signage around the reinstatement, drop a note into your letterbox or call you back depending upon what is most appropriate.
If you feel like it's taking too long, Email, or call us on 132 762.
