Yarra Valley Water has a recycled water quality monitoring program to ensure that the recycled water we supply is safe and meets the quality set by the EPA and Department of Health. Every year our independent laboratory collects and tests samples. We monitor the recycled water supply at selected representative customer taps in the two water quality zones where recycled water is supplied.
Our Operating Licence is issued by the Government and specifies obligations and requirements for the supply of water to our customers. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality recycled water, and comply with regulations and law that outline standards for public health outlined below.
Regulations and laws
The Victorian EPA Guideline 1015 “Dual Pipe Water Recycling Schemes – Health and Environmental Risk Management” specify the standards we are required to meet to ensure public health and protect the environment.
Yarra Valley Water recycled water schemes are subjected to rigorous audits by the Essential Services Commission and the EPA as set out in our Operating Licence and Recycled Water Customer Charter.
We report these results to the EPA in our Annual Recycled Water Quality Report and provide a monthly update of the quality of recycled water delivered to customers on this web site.
