Payment responsibilities
As a residential tenant you will pay water usage and sewage disposal charges where the property has a separate water meter. The property owner is responsible for service charges on the property.
Maintenance of water supply and sewerage service is also the owners responsibility.
The user pays system of billing gives you as a tenant more control over your account. To work out where you're using the most amount of water around your home use our online water calculator to measure your usage.
To save water, some of the issues you may want to discuss with your landlord include:
- replacing or fixing damaged water appliances, fittings or fixtures.
- having three star rated water saving shower heads installed.

Moving house
We need a minimum 48 hours notice so that we can read your meter and issue a final account when moving in or out.
You can provide change of address details online, via e-mail to tenancy@yvw.com.au or over the phone on 13 1721.
Details of a property sale can also be provided over the phone.
