Use a log sheet to monitor your water use
An easy way to gauge your water use around your home is to monitor your water activities. Below is a link to a water usage diary that you can use to determine which activities you do use the most amount of water.
How to use the water diary
Download the water usage diary (PDF 108KB)
Fill in which activities apply to you and how often per week you do these. In order to monitor the amount of water used for each activity, you can note down your water meter reading before you complete the activity, then note down your meter reading immediately after. The difference between the two readings is how many litres of water are used per activity.
You can multiply this result with the number of times a week you do each activity to determine your total amount of water used each week.
This method is a great way to monitor your water usage around the home.
