Class B Recycled Water
What is Class B recycled water?
A secondary treatment process, combined with some pathogen reduction is used to produce
Class B recycled water. With strict management practices it may be used for the following:
- Irrigation of dairy cattle grazing fodder
- Livestock drinking water (not including pigs)
- Wash down water for dairy sheds and stockyards (not including milking equipment)
- Urban (non-drinking) uses with restricted public access
- Closed industrial systems
Where is Class B recycled water available?
All of Yarra Valley Water's sewage treatment plants (with the exception of the Wallan Treatment Plant) produce Class B recycled water.
Access to Class B recycled water is through private agreement with Yarra Valley Water.
