Enjoy the savings

Did you know: on average 30% of all household water usage is in the shower.  A family of three can save 25,000 litres of water per year by installing a water efficient showerhead and the savings continue - the energy saved would run a 60 watt light bulb continuously for almost eighteen months.  This offer is a great way to save water, energy and money.

  • ease of installation
  • optional flow settings
  • overall water efficiency.

How to change your showerhead

If you have registered for a water efficient showerhead you will receive a letter in around four weeks explaining what to do.  Please follow the instructions on the letter
(instructions also shown below).

What to do

  • Make sure you read and understand the terms and conditions
  • Simply remove your old showerhead, following the instructions below
  • Fill out the survey and sign the statement on the back of the letter
  • Take them to one of the selected Australia Post Offices listed on your letter.

Make sure shower taps are turned off. Using an adjustable spanner undo the showerhead arm from the wall turning anti-clockwise. (To avoid scratching or damage use a cloth or place tape in between spanner and showerhead).    Swap your old showerhead for a brand new oneEnsure water is still turned off. Clean thread with a brush or steel wool. Apply 3-4 rotations of teflon tape (provided) tightly in a clockwise direction.

Install new efficient showerhead by turning it in a clockwise direction. Tighten firmly but do not over tighten. Do not use shower arm to tighten, (use spanner and cloth). Over tightening may crack tiles.

Terms and Conditions

This is a trial program. The Showerhead Exchange Program is only available to Customers in receipt of the letter. In rental situations, both the landlord and tenant must agree to the replacement of the existing showerhead with the water efficient showerhead under the Showerhead Exchange Program, in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (Vic).
