Tendering and Contracting with Yarra Valley Water
Our tendering processes are designed to promote probity and ethics in decision making surrounding the Company's procurement practices.
Objectives
- provide a system which is flexible enough to procure in a timely manner the diverse range of goods, works and services required by the Company;
- maintain impartiality in selecting the successful contractors and suppliers;
- ensure that goods, works and services obtained by the Company are of appropriate quality and are obtained utilising the principles of best value for money.
Tendering policies and practices
Advertising
It is normal practice to advertise public tenders in Wednesday's Herald Sun in the Tenders section.
Closing times and address for lodgement
The Company's normal closing time for tenders or offers is 2 pm on a Wednesday.
Tenders and offers must be lodged in the Tender Box at Yarra Valley Water, Ground Floor Reception, Lucknow Street, Mitcham, no later than the closing time stated on the tender or offer documents.
The tender or offer must be enclosed in a sealed plain envelope bearing:
- the tenderer's name and postal address;
- the Tender Number; and
- the description of the Tender.
A tender will not be accepted if delivered by telephone, facsimile or electronic means of delivery.
Any Tender or Offer not necessarily accepted. Late tenders will not be considered.
Conditions of Tendering
The Tender must comply in all respects with the Conditions of Tendering forming part of the Tender or offer documents.

Tenders and offers
Tender and offer documents may be available for inspection at the offices of Yarra Valley Water, Lucknow Street, Mitcham (inspection hours: 8.00 am to 4.00 pm), and may be obtained upon receipt of a non-refundable payment depending on the conditions of tender or offer. Queries can be directed to the nominated Yarra Valley Water contact person.
