Laundries water efficiency program

The Laundries Water Efficiency Program is a $1 million Victoria wide program funded by the Department of Sustainability and Environment and led by Yarra Valley Water. The program identifies viable water saving alternatives for each business sector and facilitate efficiency improvements through education, monitoring and evaluation tools, supplier discounts and financial incentives.

The program is designed to assist business owners improve their operations through clear information and product selection. Participation is free and the benefits to your business include reduced operating costs and improved efficiency as well as water savings.

Research Options Report
 
The Laundries Water Efficiency Program Option Report is the foundation on which the program to generate further water savings in the Laundries sector has been developed. It includes case studies and research that inform the prioritisation of water saving options.

The report:

  • Documents and explores 26 water efficiency approaches, each with case studies and cost benefit analyses; 
  • Explores barriers and drivers to change in order to support the consideration and implementation of efficiency options; and 
  • Profiles the innovation and leadership of the steps several commercial laundries have taken to improve water efficiency and a sustainable future.
