It is a friendly environment in which to work and with all the buildings now renovated on our site, it is an attractive place to work that brings out the best in people.

Jenivieve
Customer Service Consultant

JenivieveMy role with Yarra Valley Water consists of providing our customers with exemplary service regarding their billing enquiries. I believe we are able to provide such high quality customer service due to the great culture we have at Yarra Valley Water. It is our culture that allows me to be able to work independently, whilst also having a large network of support as needed. Our culture allows us to work in a positive and friendly environment and have a great work-life balance. This facilitates friendships with co-workers and keeps our work space a positive place which encourages progression and self-development. At Yarra Valley Water we are provided with the tools needed to be able to achieve personal and professional goals. This is one of the reasons why I love my job.

John
Manager Residential Land Development

JohnI first started at Yarra Valley Water in 2007 as a Sewer Case Management Officer. In the two years that followed, I assisted in the review and development of new processes to more accurately determine the cause of sewer blockages and better administer the repairs and replacement of house sewer connection branches. Recently I was given the opportunity to lead the Land Development team as Acting Manager for just over twelve months. This was both a challenging and rewarding period. What I enjoy most about working here is the opportunity to work in a highly supportive culture that strives to develop its people and its people are empowered to make a difference.

Laura
Planning Engineer

LauraI began working at Yarra Valley Water at the end of 2014. I commenced in the Development Services Division, where it was my job to assist customers with any development related enquiries they might have, whilst supporting staff with the processing of applications. I worked full time over the summer, then worked casually for the year while I completed my final year of university. The position in Development Services provided me with extensive knowledge on the areas Yarra Valley Water services, assisting me greatly when I transitioned to my current role in Sewer Growth Planning. I am able to put my now completed degree in Civil Engineering to use, as my team plans how to best provide sewer servicing to growth areas. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Yarra Valley Water having being welcomed from day one into a supportive and friendly environment, where both managers and other staff were always happy to assist me in both day to day work and my progression within the company.

Paul
Senior SharePoint Consultant

PaulI am currently tasked with maintaining and developing Yarra Valley Water’s intranet and working with the business to develop better information management processes using Microsoft SharePoint. I have been exposed to many challenging projects involving nearly all areas of the business. It is great to be in a role that gives you that exposure to see the bigger picture and understand how the company operates. People are here for the long haul and it is not hard to see why. My colleagues and managers are great people and although there is an expectation to always deliver your best, management are always looking out for your health and wellbeing.

Rob
Customer Support Operational Co-ordinator

RobWhat I love about this job is that Yarra Valley Water fundamentally believes in assisting customers who are experiencing financial difficulty. Before starting at Yarra Valley Water I had been looking for a career change and saw an opportunity to work in the Customer Contact Centre. After working in the Contact Centre I gained knowledge that enabled me to move into a more specialised role in the Customer Support Team. I really enjoy the people I work with and the culture that the business has created.
