Glenroy Sewerage Upgrade Project
Yarra Valley Water has completed works to upgrade critical sections of the existing sewerage main in the Hadfield and Pascoe Vale areas.
This upgrade was needed to ensure the reliability of the sewerage system, and to reduce the likelihood of sewage spills into the environment during heavy rain events.
Construction was completed in March 2017. The project was undertaken in two stages.
Stage 1 works - completed
These works occurred in a residential area of Hadfield, from the intersection of West Street and Caldwell Street in the north, along West Street towards the south-east corner of Pascoe Vale Girls College in the south.
The construction of Stage 1 was completed by our contractor MFJ Constructions in early March 2015.
Stage 2 works - completed
These works occurred in a residential area of Pascoe Vale, between the intersection of Stewart Street and Pascoe Vale Road in the south, through residential streets and parklands until it connected into the existing sewer in K .W. Joyce Reserve to the north.
Construction for this section started in January 2015, and was completed in March 2017. The contractor for these works was Harris Civil and MFJ Constructions.
As the final section of work occurred close to trees, we liaised with Moreland City Council tree specialists to minimise our impact on the environment.
