Ringwood Street Water Project
Yarra Valley Water is replacing a 300-metre-long section of ageing water pipe in Ringwood Street, between Maroondah Highway and Bourke Street, to improve our ability to reliably supply water to our customers in Ringwood.
Our contractor, Downer Australia, started construction activities on Tuesday 9 January 2018, and works should be completed by late March 2018.
Works are occurring Monday to Friday, between 7.00am and 3.30pm.
One lane of Ringwood Street (heading away from Maroondah Highway) will be closed until the project is completed.
During work hours, we are laying the replacement pipe under the surface of this lane, and overnight the lane is being used for the storage of our machinery, pipes and other equipment.
A Council-approved traffic management plan is in effect for the duration of these works to ensure the safety of our workers and motorists.
Our construction activities are progressing well, and Downer Australia is on track to complete their works in late March, as scheduled.
New water pipes have been built between Maroondah Highway and Bond Street. Downer Australia is currently working on the final section, between Bond Street and Bourke Street.
Affected road surfaces will be repaired once project works have been completed.
