How to read your water meter - residential customers
The amount of water you use is measured by a water meter.
Where is my meter located?
Generally close to the front of your property, often just inside the front fence.
In an emergency you can stop the flow of water to your house by turning off the stoptap.
Please remember to keep your water meter accessible, so that our Yarra Valley Water meter readers can undertake their quarterly readings across local suburbs.
Calculating your water usage
To calculate your property's water usage, you need two key pieces of information from your bill:
- your previous meter reading
- your current meter reading
