Football Federation Victoria chooses tap for the 2018 season

Choose Tap becomes FFV's Official Hydration Partner

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is delighted to announce that it has signed a partnership with Yarra Valley Water and their Choose Tap initiative for the 2018 season. Choose Tap will become the Official Hydration Partner of Football Federation Victoria, ensuring that tap water is the first choice of hydration for footballers in Victoria.

FFV includes more than 360 clubs and local associations, and this partnership with Choose Tap continues FFV’s quest for corporate partners who match FFV’s community centric policies. FFV, by not accepting fast food sponsorships and supporting anti-gambling initiatives hopes to further foster safe, inclusive and healthy football environments at the grassroots for all FFV participants.

FFV President Kimon Taliadoros was delighted with the signing of the partnership last week, “This is a proud day for FFV to establish a partnership that will further educate our community in their decision making and provide key health benefits to so many that love our beautiful game."

“Our clubs are great ambassadors for the game and are at the forefront of our community, thus it is important that they relay pertinent values across to their members. Choosing tap water makes sense - it’s a healthy, environmentally friendly and low-cost option.”

“As football is the most popular club-based participation sport in Australia, this is an excellent opportunity to expose and grow the Choose Tap message to our culturally diverse football community here in Victoria.”

Throughout the 2018 football season, Choose Tap will be supporting grassroots football with a presence at local events, connecting with local communities and encouraging an active lifestyle. Advocating Choose Tap to junior and senior footballers, their families and fans encourages healthy choices and promotes water as the best choice for hydration, recovery and improved concentration.

Yarra Valley Water Managing Director, Pat McCafferty, was thrilled upon the announcement, “we are incredibly excited to be working with the Football Federation Victoria and to have Choose Tap as their Official Hydration Partner.”

“Football is the world game and the opportunity to reach the fastest growing and most played club sport in Australia is one that Choose Tap can’t pass up. The Choose Tap program encourages people to drink tap water as part of a healthy lifestyle and as a cheaper and environmentally friendly alternative to expensive bottled water.”

“Choose Tap are looking forward to supporting grassroots footballers who may be future Socceroos and Matildas.  We are excited to promote tap water as the best choice of hydration for football, especially in a World Cup year.”
