I joined Yarra Valley Water more than 10 years ago, bringing customer‑focused experience from across a range of organisations.
What first attracted me was the location, work‑life balance and the direction the organisation was heading. More than a decade on, it’s the culture and the opportunity to make a difference that keeps me here.
I’ve always felt supported, listened to and encouraged to speak up and help drive change.
Helping people achieve their best
I grew up in Lysterfield at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges, where community and connection were an important part of everyday life.
That sense of connection has stayed with me throughout my career. I’ve worked across many areas of the business, including Commercial Services and Customer Care, as well as relationship management, operations and leadership roles.
I’m currently acting as resource optimisation manager, leading a team that forecasts demand and rosters staff so customer interactions run smoothly every day.
I really enjoy developing people. Sharing my experience and supporting future leaders as they grow gives my work a strong sense of purpose.
Bringing ideas to life
One of my proudest achievements is the Privacy Check Pop‑Up initiative.
It started as an idea I identified and championed to better protect customer information, support our people and improve customer interactions. The initiative grew into a cross‑business working group and delivered real improvements for both customers and employees. It was recognised with the 2025 AusContact VIC/TAS Employee Experience Initiative of the Year Award.
Seeing an idea grow into something that genuinely makes a difference has been incredibly rewarding.
Growing through opportunity
Secondments and acting roles have played a big part in my development, helping me broaden my skills, grow as a leader and keep learning.
Understanding the end goal helps me stay focused. Clear communication and collaboration across teams make it easier to know what needs to be done and how to do it well.
For me, Yarra Valley Water is a place where people come first, ideas are welcomed and growth is encouraged, while still making a positive impact for our customers and community.
