Self-growth leads to greater confidence and motivation

It all began with a leadership course in 2023, which deepened my commitment to personal and professional growth.
Over the past year, I’ve transformed my health and lifestyle, while seizing opportunities to grow and learn at YVW.
Participating in training courses and stepping into an acting role as manager has significantly helped me diversify my skills and advance my career.
It’s given me confidence and growth, allowing me to take on new challenges and contribute more effectively to the team.
Driving change through collaboration
My drive to serve the community and make a difference saw me join YVW 4 years ago as ServiceNow Platform Owner.
I haven’t looked back since and remain passionate about innovation and delivering outcomes that matter.
I’m particularly proud of my involvement in the HR Service Delivery project and the development of the Duty Roster portal page in ServiceNow.
These projects were complex and required not only a deep understanding of business processes, but also close collaboration with non-IT teams.
It helped me better understand how different departments within YVW work in unison to serve our community – it enhanced our service delivery and strengthened relationships across teams, making it an incredibly rewarding experience.
Helping shape our future
I’m also focused on making a meaningful impact and leaving my mark within the organisation.
Last year, I joined the Service Futures culture working group to help create a better workplace experience.
Our goal is to foster a supporting and inclusive culture within Service Futures, enabling our group to achieve valued outcomes that positively impact people, communities and the environment.
I look forward to helping create a workplace that empowers our team to make meaningful contributions.
Team support and inspiration
My team’s support has helped me grow – both personally and professionally.
I often share with family and friends how my team has been there for me – helping me navigate challenges like mum guilt and the ups and downs of lockdown.
Over the past few years, I’ve also formed many close friendships, which makes work feel even more fulfilling.
I credit my colleagues with inspiring me to stay motivated and encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone.
Surrounding myself with motivated peers is one of my key strategies for staying dedicated to making a real difference.
