Yarra Valley Water leads the way in Walk for Water

WaterAid Australia’s Walk for Water raises both funds and awareness for the 696 million people worldwide who don’t have access to clean water and must often walk long distances to collect it.
More than 200 Yarra Valley Water staff took part this year, raising money to support the cause.
Yarra Valley Water Managing Director Natalie Foeng said she was delighted with the staff effort.
“The work WaterAid Australia does is absolutely vital. Access to clean water changes everything – it improves health, helps communities thrive, and creates new opportunities for the women and children who otherwise spend hours each day walking long distances to collect water,” she said.
“It’s been fantastic to see our staff’s motivation and commitment. I’m proud that as an organisation we look beyond our own borders to help others.”
Yarra Valley Water Divisional Manager Community Inclusion Grace Rose-Miller, who was one of the organisation's top contributors, said she was pleased to support such a valuable cause.
“Supporting WaterAid aligns strongly with our values as an organisation. Access to clean water is not only a human right, but something that impacts so many areas of our lives,” she said.
“It’s been really enjoyable finding new ways as a team to fundraise and get our steps up, and seeing what we’ve achieved through our efforts has been incredibly rewarding.”
The 2025 Walk for Water was one of the fundraiser’s most successful years, raising more than $140,000 in total.
WaterAid Australia Chief Executive Tom Muller said these funds would significantly improve the lives of many.
“We’re incredibly grateful to every individual and organisation who took part in the fundraiser or made a donation,” he said.
“Their efforts will help people around the world access clean water close to home, in their schools, and at their healthcare facilities.”
