Statement on recycled water incident

Yarra Valley Water and Victorian Government agencies are taking action in response to an incident at a school in Craigieburn in which recycled water was connected to the drinking water supply.

28 October 2015

The issue was detected yesterday at Mt Ridley College when Yarra Valley Water was conducting maintenance.

The school community, including parents and teachers, has been informed and provided with the relevant health and other information.

Bottled water has been supplied to the school and the school has remained open.

Yarra Valley Water has commenced the process of cleaning out the water pipes before the potable water supply can be re-connected.

An investigation into this incident is underway.
