Run by the Customer Service Institute of Australia, these awards recognise customer service excellence across all industries, not just the water industry.

Corali Duncan, Customer Contact Centre Team Leader, secured the prestigious title of Customer Service Leader of the Year 2023.

“What an absolute honour, to be recognised for doing what I love. I’m so grateful and humbled to have been nominated by our people, this win is for them. Thank you to the Customer Service Institute of Australia, the judges and all involved to make it possible to celebrate our work,” said Ms Duncan.

Steve Lennox, General Manager of Retail Services at Yarra Valley Water, was highly commended in the Executive of the Year category.

Steve Lennox said he was honoured to be acknowledged and thanked his team.

“I’m really humbled to be recognised for this award, because customer service is really important to us here at Yarra Valley Water. One of the major reasons for our success has been due to the amazing work our people do every single day,” Mr Lennox said.

Yarra Valley Water is widely recognised for its excellent customer service. This is due to Steve’s belief that the customers are at the centre of the business, and his dedication to his team.

“We're not just focused on our customers - we prioritise our people too. With a flexible work culture, growth opportunities, and an inclusive workplace culture, we're dedicated to making sure our team are happy,” Mr Lennox said.

As General Manager Retail Services and a member of Yarra Valley Water’s senior leadership team, Steve has led the company’s customer service strategy for the last 13 years.

Two other Yarra Valley Water employees were acknowledged at the ASEAs.  Matt Joseph received a High Commendation in the Customer Service Professional of the Year category and Andrew Cawfield was named finalist in the Customer Service Advocate of the Year category.

Managing Director Pat McCafferty said he’s proud to celebrate these remarkable achievements.

“These awards are a testament to the unwavering dedication and passion of our incredible team. Their commitment to service excellence sets a benchmark in our industry and showcases our commitment to delivering world-class customer experiences."

According to the latest customer satisfaction results by the Essential Services Commission from January to September 2023, Yarra Valley Water came 2nd out of 16 water corporations across Victoria for trust and overall satisfaction. Additionally, it ranked 3rd in the state for both value for money and its reputation in the community.
