Painted Hills Sewer Upgrade

We’re completed work to upgrade the sewer main and pump station at Painted Hills Road to improve our sewer network's reliability in Doreen. 
Thanks for your patience while we completed this important work.

In October 2026, we completed the mechanical and electrical works at the pump station and the new pipeline is operational. We have grass-seeded the areas where we worked and are yet to finalise our reinstatement activities.

What we did

• We constructed a one-kilometre sewer pipeline from the pump station site, opposite Kyarra Drive, to the Mernda and Doreen Recreation Reserve. Given the variable and difficult ground conditions, we used a combination of open cut trenching and micro-tunnelling. This work was completed in stages. We also constructed new maintenance holes to provide access to the sewer, when required.
• We constructed a new wet well and pump station near the intersection of Painted Hills Road and Kyarra Drive and decommissioned the existing sewer pump station.  

This work was completed by our Project Partner, Jaydo Constructions, without interruption to your water or sewer services.
