Wallan East Branch Sewer Project, Stage 1

We’re planning to construct a new sewer main in Wallan East to meet the needs of planned development and population growth.

What’s involved in the works?

This main will connect our existing network to our Wallan Sewerage Treatment Plant in South Station Street.

Our Stage 1 work will be constructed in 2 phases:

• A 1.5 km section, east of South Station Street and the Melbourne to Sydney rail track
• An 800 m section west of South Station Street and the rail track.

Most of the works will be constructed in land owned by Yarra Valley Water with some of the works in road reserves and developer-owned land.

Construction is expected to start in early to mid-2027.
