Wallan Sewer Project
Our project partner, Jaydo, started installing pipes under the Watson Street on-ramp to the Hume Freeway in November 2025. We expect to complete this short section of the project in mid-December.
What's involved
Our project will be completed in stages - Part A and Part B.
Part A includes micro-tunnelling under Watson Street and installing pipes in an open-cut trench within the road reserve and private properties to Butler Court. See the map, Part A1 and Part A2. We started this work in November 2025 and expect to be completed by March 2026.
Part B involves constructing the new sewer pump station at Mittagong Creek and a new sewer pipeline to our new pipe at Watson Street, using open-cut trenching. This work is planned to begin in the July 2026, when our designs and plans have been completed.
Once our work has been completed, we’ll decommission our existing, aged assets.

What to expect
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm.
If required, there may be some work on Saturday, 7 am to 3 pm.There will be construction noise and dust, especially as we dig the deep shafts needed to micro-tunnel under Watson Street.
As we plan to access our micro-tunnelling shaft site from Watson Street and from McCarthy Court/Kirribilli Crescent, some equipment and machinery will be delivered via residential streets.
There may be short traffic delays and interruptions. For your safety, please follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
There may be additional vehicles parked in residential streets.
Trees and vegetation along Watson Street and on private land at McCarthy Court, has been removed.
We don’t expect any interruption to your water and sewerage services.
